A Delightful and Fascinating Read

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 August 2022

A wonderful journey on the origins and influences of many staples found in a gentleman's wardrobe, from button down shirts, loafers, Harrington jackets and even pocket square handkerchiefs, this book is a must have for the curious and those who take pride in their clothes.
For me it is written in an easy engaging style that is neither condescending to the reader or lazy in direction.
Since reading Mr Disley’s book, I’ve been told I say “… did you know…” a lot when describing what I’m wearing, it’s had that impact on me!
So, if you like classic styling, from Ivy to work wear, Oxford cotton to paisley this is a well crafted concise read which I highly recommended!

Really enjoyed reading this. Lots of interesting facts and history around many of the key modernist styles, manufacturers and items written in a engaging dialogue.

Learned lots and will investigate further.

JASON DISLEY - THE DESIRED ARTICLE - A CONCISE LOOK AT STYLE

I don’t think there’s quite enough books on Mens style and clothes and I was delighted when this one landed this year from Jason. It covers the staples and timeless classics of any self respecting wardrobe but it also provides great detail into the history and evolution of each item or garment. I genuinely loved it and it’s something I shall constantly dip back into for reference.
